About us
Standing People is the name indigenous Americans gave to trees. They believe that trees, much like us, interact with their surroundings and that they, much like us, deserve the correct care and respect.
All too often, decisions about the maintenance of trees are motivated by fear, which makes us rely on unnecessary and harmful chemicals. Humans don’t rely on systematic medication to function, why should trees? A healthy tree starts with a healthy soil.
Jan combines his many years of experience in the field with a degree in garden and landscape architecture and training in soil biology and biodiversity. Driven by his curiosity on the subject, Jan continues his education every chance he gets.
Our society is finally realising the importance of trees and is taking action by creating greener spaces in towns and cities. That in itself is of course great news. By engaging in a dialogue with designers, architects, city councils and all other parties involved, Standing People.be can help create a complete and well cared for green project that will last.
Jan provides you with no-nonsense advice and works actively with you to ensure the best possible care for your trees, soil and environment. This results in a gorgeous, original and above all healthy green environment that’s ready to take on any season.

Standing People.be aims to be an addition and partner in your project. We will by no means replace your current team or landscape architect. Instead, we are excited to work together!
We do not design the plans for your green space, nor do we work with specific nurseries to gain a commission. We offer our years of experience and specific education to lift your green project to the next level. We take great pride in our projects and especially in the lasting relationships with our partners. To see a green space that we have consulted on thrive is our greatest pleasure.
A partnership with Standing People.be is so much more than the occasional e-mail filled with generic advice. We visit your project, discuss your plans, take into consideration all your wishes and concerns, and come up with a hands-on custom plan together. We train the team in charge of the project and provide you with our professional equipment if necessary.
